First and foremost, please allow me to welcome you to BHTJ.net. Are you wondering what BHTJ.net is? Of course you are otherwise you wouldn't have clicked the link that led you here! Black Hills TJ (dot) net, BHTJ.net, is not only a personal website that some crazy person came up with. It is an information center packed with facts, opinions, oooh and pretty pictures too!

Let's begin with the name shall we? Black Hills TJ (dot) net, BHTJ.net, is derived from the name of one of the most beautiful places on the planet, the Black Hills. Located in the western-most region of South Dakota and partially pertruding into some of eastern Wyoming, the Black Hills are home to amazing wildlife such as the bald eagle, national monuments such as Mt. Rushmore, and endless amounts of beautiful scenery including numerous caves, crystal clear lakes and streams, and abandoned ghost towns and gold mines. Now the "TJ" portion of BHTJ.net comes from one of my absolute favorite hobbies, Jeeps. I drive a '97 Jeep TJ Wrangler, and thus, TJ was tacked onto the site name. Speaking of the beautiful Black Hills and Jeeps, there are countless four-wheeling trails from 2 wheel drive forest service trails, to 5+ rated trails where you'll surely be stuck without a winch and lockers. However, I digress, and we must move on!

Now that a brief explanation of the site name is out of the way, let's learn a little more about what BHTJ.net is and why on God's green earth its here. BHTJ.net is my attempt at informing the wonderful 6+ billion people of the world about the Black Hills area, why the area is so great, and I'll let everyone know a little bit about myself along the way. I will gladly be sharing my personal experiences via stories and photographs that I, or one of those many people that I call friends, have taken of things going on in the Black Hills area. All photographs will have been taken by me personally, unless stated otherwise. Everyone loves pictures right? BHTJ.net is also a place for me to record some personal things going in my life. I'm sure some of these events will be quite entertaining for most of you. However, some of them may be emotional and bring out some long, lost memories both good and bad. Please join me on an amazing journey through both the Black Hills of South Dakota and my life.
